Join Us…
The Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG) Founding Chairman, Bill Ronay, will announce the newly appointed At-Large Board of Directors at its next General Membership/Open Meeting, Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM. The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) will host the meeting in its Community Room located at 34 School Street, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
The ADCG regularly travels around North and Central Georgia in it's ongoing marketing campaign and membership drive. Each and every meeting brings artists, performers, craft makers and art organizations together in a hugely successful “networking” environment. Many prospective, new and current members attend and benefit from the opportunity.
New At-Large Board of Directors Appointments…
This meeting will be a changing of the guard from the Founding Chairperson, Bill Ronay as he hands over the reins to the next Chair. At the request of the ADCG Executive Board, Ronay will continue as Vice Chair. Other new At-Large Board members taking their place will be Craig Gill, Paul Proffitt and Camille Ronay. They will be replacing outgoing board members, Barbara Bendzunas, “O C” (C. Olivia) Carlisle and Rosemarie “Rose” Handy.
ADCG Treasurer, Cary Fordyce, will also be rotating from the BOD. Discussion of his successor will be a topic covered at the June 10 meeting.
“It’s been an honor leading this exciting new organization,” Ronay said. “The Woodruf Arts Center/ADCG joint project is but one example of how far we have come and matured in a very short time span. I am confident ADCG will grow with even more success in the future.”
Ronay is still interviewing prospects for the next ADCG Chairman. “What a wonderful way to really make a difference in the Arts!” Any and all ADCG members are urged to contact the Chairman immediately.
Featured Speaker…
The featured speaker is Joe Ruiz, the OCAF Director. He leads an impressive arts organization with skill and talent. The majority of OCAF's events and exhibitions are free to the public, and annually serves a diverse audience of over 25,000 people. Countless volunteers and a paid staff of 2 contribute to the smooth operations of this non-profit arts charity that brings art and culture to an ever growing community

Woodruff Arts Center/ADCG Project…
There will be a short presentation about the ADCG involvement with the Woodruff Foundation involving arts and education in rural schools by Jeanette Vaughn Waddell, ADCG Secretary.
The successful "Two Minutes of Fame" introduction exercise will feature area artists and their work. Artists are asked to bring a piece of their art (that they can hold in one hand) and should be prepared to give a very brief talk on their art, their “Two Minutes of Fame”. The first ten artists to register before the meeting will be called upon to present at the meeting.

The ADCG three-point mission is cultivating a thriving economic environment for the creative expression and appreciation for the arts through entrepreneurial development, education and marketing.
