ADCG Board of Directors/Members Meeting;  March 13, 2013 - Watkinsville, Georgia

Ashford on Main

Attention:  All ADCG Members, Board of Directors, Supporters, Patrons and all other "Art Centric" folks...

ADCG Meeting Venue:
Dave Shearon, Ashford Manor Bed and Breakfast, Watkinsville, Georgia has extended an invitation to the Arts Development Council of Georgia to hold its March 13, 2013 Board of Directors/Membership Meeting at that location and we have accepted!

Ashford on Main, located just around the corner from its parent property, Ashford Manor Bed and Breakfast, is the area's newest special events facility.  ADCG is honored to be using it to gather its Board of Directors, membership, advocates and other arts organizations from Northeast Georgia.

According to Dave, "Ashford On Main is the premier events facility. We cater to business meetings, private parties, corporate events, birthdays, anniversaries, showers, retreats and anything else you can dream up!"

Tentative Agenda:
The Agenda will include a detailed recap of the most recent Business Development Workshop held at The Art Station - Big Shanty, Kennesaw, Georgia, held on February 20th.  Camille Ronay will give a full report with plenty of detail, I'm sure.

In addition, there is great news for the next workshop to be held once again at the Athens SBDC, scheduled for July 17, 2013

Also on the Agenda will be a presentation on a grant writing proposal by BOD Member Ernest Rogers in his efforts to develop an ADCG resource and future revenue stream.

Dave alerted me to Sunshine Village Gallery/Arts/Antiques, a very active art gallery at 11 S. Main Street, Watkinsville...featuring several Georgia and other regional artists.  They have been invited to the meeting to give an overview of the gallery, its patronage and featured artists.

As mentioned in last month's BOD/Membership Meeting in Washington, Georgia, Laura Connely has suggested a potter/pottery presentation along with other activities during the morning's gathering.

There also may be some entertainment...stay tuned!

If you have any other items for the Agenda, please let me know as quickly as possible.

RSVP:
Refreshments are being provided for the morning...so we will need to know how many of y'all to expect.  If you are planning on bringing guests, we'll need to anticipate those additions as well.

Please let us hear from you no later than Monday, March 11, 2013.  Phone 706-342-7878;  Cell 706-473-1283;  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Minutes of the ADCG Conference Call Meeting – September 5, 2012

In Attendance: 2 Ronays, Linda Parish, Cary Fordyce, Ernest Rogers

Bill Ronay called the meeting to order at 10:04am.

August’s Meeting Minutes accepted by Linda & Ernest.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Cary took some time to explain how the Professional Development workshop proceeds can go into the treasury two ways since part of the registration fee went to membership dues and part to the event costs. We have $1084 cash on hand + checks outstanding. $542 can go to membership dues and $542 to the event. If we do that, and subtract expenses for the workshop, we’ll lose a little less than $200 on paper. OR we can collect the entire $1084 + checks outstanding and deduct expenses for a net profit. After some talk, Cary said we’ll do the deposits and the “OR” and make an update in next month’s Cash Flow statement. The motion to accept the current cash flow statement accepted by Linda & Ernest.

Announcements:

Linda Parish announced Lexington’s Firefly Festival is on October 13, the 5K/10K Restoration Runs are November 17, and Christmas in Oglethorpe is scheduled for December 8. First Friday is this week in Lexington.

Ernest is performing at the Bone Island Grill from 6-9pm on Saturday September 8. He’ll have a booth at a bridal show September 9. He has an ad in Lake Oconee Living. He’s riding in a new truck with his logo.

Cary reminded us that tomorrow, Thursday September 6, a charter school community meeting will be held in Crawford.

Old Business:

Camille is to research the feasibility of having two Atlanta professional development workshops in Atlanta and one in Athens in 2013. We’re thinking maybe Kennesaw Art Station and Spruill Arts Center in the Metro. And we may want to move the Athens workshop at the SBDC to July. Cary and Linda motion that Camille carry on with this plan.

New Business & Presentations:

The Gills are no longer available for ADCG. We need a membership chairperson ASAP.

Cary and Linda approve adjournment of this conference call at 9:45am

The next ADCG meeting will be at The Connely Gallery on the Square in Washington Georgia on 12/12/12, 10-11”30 AM. The ADCG Annual Holiday Board of Directors and Open Membership Meeting including music, refreshments, “Two Minutes of Fame”, and a membership show and tell is from 10 to 11:30am. Be there!

Attention:  All ADCG Members, Arts Organizations, Advocates and Supporters

The December ADCG Board of Directors and Open Membership Meeting will be held at the Connely Gallery, Washington, Georgia on

12/12/12...

Plans are coming together for a wonderful, warm and delightful Board of Directors/Open Membership Meeting to be held on a very unique, once-in-a-lifetime date, December 12, 2012.  All ADCG members, supporters arts organizations, advocates, friends and family are invited to attend and participate.

The location for this annual Christmas and Holiday "tradition" will be the Connely Gallery, 7 East Public Square, Washington, Georgia.  Seasonal refreshments and music will be in plentiful supply from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM...and you are encouraged to stay longer.

Yes, we are going to discuss and tidy up just a little bit of year-end business.  However, we plan to concentrate on the lighter topics and move right on into the "fun stuff" as quickly as possible.

Inviting ALL ADCG Members, Especially New and Recent....
This is an opportunity to attend, network with fellow ADCG members and to tell us about yourself and place your creativity on display.

The ever popular "Two Minutes of Fame" will once be an opportunity for you to interact with the crowd.  This segment of the Membership Meeting has always been popular.  And what better time than Christmas and the Holiday Season to really make it possible have some genuine fun!

As many as a dozen individuals have taken to center stage to tell about themselves and to engage the audience with enthusiasm and telling them about their work, media and creative passion.

If you would like to be a part of the "Two Minutes of Fame" segment of the meeting, please let us know as quickly as possible.  Contact Laura Connely at the Connely Gallery or Bill Ronay, ADCG Vice Chair, so you'll be sure to be on the program.

A Special Musical Presentation:
Laura Connely, our host and a very accomplished musician, has planned a very special musical segment for the meeting.  I don't think you will want to miss this.

And Afterwards...a Holiday Hootenanny!
You are definitely encouraged to bring any instrument(s) you might play so we can segue into a "Christmas Jam Session".  Whatever instruments you may have...from tubas to kazoos, tambourines to balalaikas...bring 'em!

We'll also try to have some sheet music available for some of the Season's favorites.

An RSVP by December 7, 2012 would be appreciated so we can make appropriate preparations for food and agenda.

Remember, 12/12/12...10-11:30 AM, Connely Gallery, 7 E. Public Square, Washington, Ga 30673.
