The Arts Development Council of Georgia (ADCG) will hold its next General Membership/Open Meeting at Lyndon House Art Center, 293 Hoyt Street, Athens at 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008. The ADCG will be celebrating it's "First Birthday" at this meeting as it continues it's membership drive and hopes many new members will attend.
Claire Benson of the Lyndon House Art Center will host the meeting and give a tour of the facility. The successful ' Two Minutes of Fame' show-and-tell introduction exercise will be held featuring artists currently showing at the Lyndon House.
The ADCG Board of Directors will hold a short business meeting at 9.30 a.m. before the general meeting to approve four new board members who will be replacing the initial one-year term At-Large Board positions. The ADCG three-point mission is cultivating a thriving economic environment for the creative expression and appreciation for the arts through entrepreneurial development, education and marketing. The ADCG continues to reflect this in its expanding Board of Directors.
ADCG membership has been established currently at a preliminary fee of $25 for Artists/Individuals, $100 for Art Advocates, and $100 or above for Corporate Sponsors. Any artist - visual, theater, musician, craft maker, arts advocate or corporations interested in joining, please send a check made payable to the Arts Development Council of Georgia, attn: Treasurer Cary Fordyce, PO Box 56, Crawford, GA 30630 and give your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Membership applications are online at http://www.adcg.org.
The General Membership/Open Meeting is "open" to the public as well as current and prospective members of the Arts Development Council of Georgia. If you a Georgia Artist in the graphic, performing, literary, culinary or visual disciplines, we certainly urge your attendance and contact with our organization.
